Comedy Concert Tickets
Comedy can date its beginnings back to 425 BCE when Aristophanes wrote 40 comedies, 11 of which survive and are still being performed. Comedy has taken on different meanings throughout the centuries. Shakespearean comedies, as well as those of the ancient Greeks, are ones that have a happy ending, instead of ending in tragedy. Aristotle defined comedy as one of the original four genres of literature.
Stand-up comedy is what many of us buy tickets to see today. We can date our stand-up comedy to the late 19th century including vaudeville, Minstrel shows and humorist monologues like those performed by Mark Twain. The 1970s really saw some major stars emerge in this category including Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Bill Cosby and Steve Martin. Today, we carry tickets to many great comedy events including Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, Joan Rivers, Daniel Tosh and many more!
