Professional boxing emerged in the early 20th century. Most professional bouts took place in the United States and Britain. Champions of the era included Jim Jeffries and Bob Fitzsimmons. In 1908, Jack Johnson became the first black heavyweight champion and a highly controversial figure in that racially charged era. Prizefighting champions were huge sports celebrities and a championship had a huge public interest in this era.

Today, professional bouts are a maximum of twelve rounds. If a knockout or disqualification doesn't happen, the fight is determined by decision. The judges add their scores and each judge picks a winner. If they all pick the same fighter, he wins by unanimous decision. Professional boxing is still a hugely watched sport with a lot of action. Our site has hundreds of boxing tickets. We can even get you sitting ringside to really see the action. So grab some tickets to see all the action!
